If you love locomotives, riding on trains, FANTASTIC SCENRY, and cooler weather in August, then this trip is for you. This trip will include 4 of the most scenic, historic trains in Colorado. The CUMBRES & TOLTEC, built in 1880 begins in Antonito, CO. and ends in Chama, NM. It is pulled by a 1925 Steam Engine. Next, we will ride the Durango & Silverton NARROW GAUGE from Durango, CO. to Silverton, CO. In operation since 1882, the train is pulled through the San Juan Mountains by a 100% Coal-Fired, Steam Engine. The third adventure will be through the Royal Gorge on the ROYAL GORGE RAILWAY, considered by some to be one of the most spectacular scenic railroads in the world. The fourth train will be up Pikes Peak on the PIKES PEAK COG RAILWAY. This very unique trip takes you to the top of the mountain where Katherine Lee Bates was inspired to write the lyrics to “American, the Beautiful”.

The Dallas Arboretum, one of the most beautiful outdoor attractions in Dallas, features 66-acres of spectacular display gardens in a serene setting on White Rock Lake.
