Owner and Manager
Donny Roach is the Owner and Manager of American Tours, a Tyler, Texas-based tour company specializing in professionally guided group vacations for active adult travelers. Since conducting his first motor-coach tour in 2005, Donny has spent more than two decades helping travelers discover new destinations, enjoy new experiences, and make lasting memories along the way.
For Donny, a successful vacation is about more than simply reaching a destination. It is about creating an enjoyable travel experience where much of the planning and coordination has already been taken care of, allowing travelers to relax, enjoy the journey, and share the experience with others.
Today, American Tours offers both Motor-Coach Tours and Fly & Ride Vacations, serving travelers from Tyler and throughout Northeast Texas while also welcoming travelers from the greater Dallas–Fort Worth area and beyond.
More Than Two Decades in Group Travel
Donny conducted his first motor-coach tour in 2005, beginning what would become a long-term commitment to professionally organized group travel.
Over the years, he has learned that travelers value more than an interesting destination. They also appreciate knowing what to expect, having the important details organized in advance, traveling with others, and having knowledgeable professionals available throughout their vacation.
Those lessons continue to influence the way American Tours approaches group travel today.
American Tours' Motor-Coach Tours provide planned group departures to destinations and special events throughout the United States. The company's Fly & Ride Vacations make it possible to reach destinations farther from home by combining air travel with a professionally guided tour experience at the destination.
Rather than operating as a traditional travel agency focused on customized individual vacations, American Tours specializes in offering scheduled group departures with established itineraries travelers can review and select based on their interests.

One of Donny's greatest areas of focus has always been customer service.
Even as the ways people research, book, and experience travel have changed, Donny believes personal service still matters. Travelers should be able to ask questions, understand what is included in their vacation, and feel confident about the trip they have selected.
That philosophy is particularly important because many American Tours customers travel with the company more than once. Building those long-term relationships requires honesty, dependable communication, attention to detail, and treating travelers as people rather than reservation numbers.
Donny remains actively involved in the day-to-day operation of American Tours and in helping customers prepare for their upcoming vacations.

Leading American Tours
As Owner and Manager, Donny oversees the daily operation of American Tours while remaining closely involved with the company's travelers and tour programs.
American Tours is proudly based in Tyler, Texas, with deep roots in Northeast Texas. As the company's Fly & Ride vacation program has expanded, American Tours also serves travelers throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area, with many Fly & Ride departures utilizing Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).
Donny's goal is not to turn American Tours into a traditional travel agency that tries to be everything to everyone. Instead, the company remains focused on what it does best: providing professionally guided group vacations for travelers who enjoy seeing new places without having to plan every detail of the journey themselves.
Life Outside of American Tours
Travel may be an important part of Donny's life, but it is certainly not the only part.
Donny has been happily married for 35 years and enjoys spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Family time provides an important balance to the demands of running a business and coordinating a busy travel schedule.
When he isn't working or traveling, there is a good chance Donny can be found on a golf course. He is an enthusiastic golfer who appreciates both the challenge of the game and the opportunity to spend a few hours outdoors.
He also enjoys working in his yard and takes considerable pride in keeping his lawn looking its best. Whether working on American Tours, playing a round of golf, spending time in the yard, or enjoying time with family, Donny appreciates staying active and making the most of the time he has.
Helping Travelers See What's Next
After more than two decades in group travel, Donny still enjoys seeing travelers get excited about where they are going next.
Some customers are experienced travelers who have toured with American Tours many times. Others may be considering their first professionally guided group vacation. Either way, Donny wants travelers to feel welcome, informed, and confident about the journey ahead.
